Pick a Suitable Song. It goes without saying that the wedding song you choose should be meaningful to the both of you. You may have an exact song that you want to use, but if you are slightly unsure then you should make sure that the one you choose is suitable for a first dance. This means that the language should be appropriate and the song has a nice calm tone to it.
Take Some Dance Lessons. Some of us are blessed with a natural ability to be able to dance, however, a lot of us may have the old issue of having two left feet! If you do happen to be in this position, you can try and overcome it by taking a few dance lessons which will help you find some rhythm. By doing this, you will be much calmer when it comes to the actual wedding day and will be confident when you’re up there with your partner.
Rid Yourself of Any Nerves. This is a point which may be easier said than done, but it is important to remember this is your day! Even if your dance ends up being a disaster (it won’t!) your friends and family will all be supporting you and will be happy for you regardless. By remembering this, you will be able to just truly enjoy the dance and take in the moment with your partner instead of thinking about it potentially going wrong.
Wear the Correct Footwear. When it comes to the wedding day, most focus is put on the dress and suit – but you should also bear in mind the footwear you will be wearing too. Ensure that it has a good grip at the bottom as this will be very helpful as most dance floors can be slippery. Additionally, you should try and practice beforehand in the shoes you will be wearing on the day as it will be unhelpful you practicing in trainers and only dancing in your shoes for the first time on the actual day.
