Club Room

Worthington designed the club rooms to feel like "a more prosperous and solid-looking London Athenaeum Club," and the Club room delivers precisely that atmosphere. Beautifully finished oak-panelled walls meet intricate ceiling plasterwork, with a stunning marble fireplace commanding attention as the room's centrepiece.

Standout Elements

That marble fireplace genuinely anchors the room, creating a focal point that defines seating arrangements and draws guests toward its warmth. Combined with the ceiling plasterwork, it represents Worthington's vision of refined club life.

Event Suitability

The Club offers a unique setting for casual guests, where the architecture enhances the experience—surrounded by oak panels and firelight, beneath ornate plasterwork. Wedding parties use it for ceremony spaces, evening entertainment, or drinks receptions adjacent to the Gallery wedding breakfasts.

An Oxford standard room atmosphere

Architectural Character

A round table typically occupies the room's centre, reinforcing the club atmosphere. The detailed plaster work above contrasts with the warm oak tones of the walls, while the marble fireplace provides a natural gathering point. The space connects to both The Gallery and Drawing Room, enabling multi-room configurations.
